Pastor Scott has been a United Methodist Minister for over twenty-five years and is known for his non-traditional style of preaching. He has served UM Churches in Carson City, Downieville, Bakersfield, and Wasco, serving the latter two for ten years each. He is an ordained United Methodist Elder and received his Master of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. He also earned a B.A. Degree in History from CSU Sacramento.
He and his wife Frances have been married since 1983 and have two adult children. His hobbies include auto mechanics, playing the trombone, drinking coffee, watching sports, a love of all things pertaining to Chrysler, and talking to people! Pastor Neal served as our pastor for thirteen years, and has been in pastoral ministry for nearly fifty years. Now retired, he leads this vital ministry to newcomers, those hospitalized and others who wish a visit. Neal loves to connect with people. He is an encourager. His passion is to help people connect to Jesus and one another. Neal is a spiritual coach or mentor to those who wish to grow in their walk with Jesus.

George was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. His father, George Fenley Jr. was a professor of music at CSU, Sacramento, from which George graduated with a degree in classical piano performance in 1989. His mother, Eleanor Fenley, also a music educator, graduated fromdthe Univerity of Laramie, WY with a degree in classical piano performance.
After graduation, George went on to direct music and play keyborads and guitar for several churches. He even got the opportunity to arrange the backup vocal band for the Harvest Crusade, with Greg Laurie, in Sacramento, in 1990, until he began working full time as a public high school choir and guitar instructor in Pueblo, CO and Page, AZ. During his music career he has composed and arranged many songs. He continued part time and volunteer work in various churches. In 2007 he began working as an online music appreciation and electives (including career planning, fine art appreciation, and skills for health) teacher for k12.com, the largest online public school. He was also the national guitar club instructor for K12 for two years, until he resigned from teaching in 2016.
He began work on a master's degree in theology at United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH, but then transferred to Fuller Theological Seminary. He is currently on track to finish his Master of Arts in Theology from Fuller in December of 2018 or March of 2019.
He is a single dad of two boys, ages 15 nd 16.
George loves to hike, ATV, travel, read, study theology, and engage in charitable and lively theological and philosophical discussion. His favorite areas of study being the person, grace, and kingdom of Christ, and how that grace and kingdom of Christ is manifested in our daily lives.
Larry has been part of Aldersgate's youth ministry since 2009, helping the youth leaders in a support role. He became our youth director in 2015. Larry enjoys working with the junior high & high school youth to have a fun time together and develop a lasting faith.
Larry is a certified Lay Servant in the United Methodist Church & occasionally substitutes for vacationing pastors.
Larry & his wife, Debbie have been married for twenty-five years. For twenty years, he's been self-employed with Picture Plus promotional products, an advertising specialties distributor. In his spare time, Larry enjoys hiking, biking, & reading. Email
Ellen is married to Rick and has six children and two grandchildren. She is devoted to her family, including extended family, and spends the majority of her time taking care of them. She and Rick have attended Aldersgate for sixteen years. Her duties include arranging for curriculum for the Sunday School classes and managing the volunteers within the ministry. She also heads up the AWANA program and our annual Vacation Bible School. Email
